REGISTRATION PORTAL FOR PATIENTS AGED 50-69 IS NOW OPEN ON HSE WEBSITE
All patients aged 50-69 can now register for their Astra Zeneca COVID Vaccine through the HSE portal, these vaccines will be done in vaccination centres and not here at the practice. Click here for more information and to register: Register to get a COVID-19 vaccine (hse.ie)
GPs have no role in the vaccination of patients aged 60-69. Patients within this age cohort, regardless of underlying health issues, are to register with the HSE Portal/Helpline for vaccination in a HSE Vaccination Centre.
PATIENTS IN COHORT 4A AND COHORT 7
We have commenced vaccinating patients within these cohorts and will continue to do so over the next few weeks – if you feel you meet the criteria for Cohort 7 which can be found here https://www2.hse.ie/screening-and-vaccinations/covid-19-vaccine/rollout and are aged between 18-59 please contact us on 01 8412460 or email us via covidvaccinequeries@balbrigganmedical.com
GPs will have no role in vaccinating the population outside of these groups. The HSE and IMO have been very clear with us that we are not to deviate from this guidance, and we have not been given authority to override this.
SO FAR HERE AT BALBRIGGAN MEDICAL CENTRE
We have vaccinated all of our patients aged 70 and over and commenced patients in cohort 4a and 7. We expect to have second doses for all of these patients completed by the end of May.
All patients will receive their 2nd dose a month after the first and we are scheduled to complete our over 70s by the 3rd week in May.
In the meantime we have asked reception and phone staff not to discuss individual situations in order to keep our phones available for patients who may be unwell.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation in this regard and ask for your understanding during the rollout of this very complex vaccination programme.
